The Big Island’s longest-running kayak tour company, guiding the Kona coast since 1994.
Both tours launch from Keauhou Bay with a local guide, and both welcome first-timers ages 5 and up.
Paddle beneath lava cliffs to the End of the World, explore the Dragon’s Throat sea cave when conditions allow, then snorkel the reef and finish with fresh-cut pineapple.
A shorter, gentler paddle on the calmest water of the day, with the best odds of finding dolphins and, in winter, humpback whales. Sightings are never guaranteed.

Paddling basics, ocean safety, then we launch one kayak at a time.
South along the lava cliffs toward Kuamoʻo Bay, over coral gardens, with breaks to rest and talk story about the coastline.
Your guide helps each kayak into the sea cave, as far as the ocean allows that day.
Kayaks get tied together, gear comes out, and everyone gets in the water.
Fresh-cut pineapple, snacks and cold drinks, on the water or back on shore.
Your guide reads the ocean every morning before anyone gets wet, keeps the group together on the water and decides how far into the cave it’s safe to go that day. When conditions change, the plan changes with them.

Mike and Carol Dennis started Ocean Safaris with a simple idea: show people the Kona coast quietly, by paddle, in small groups. Thirty-plus years later, their longtime lead guide Winfield Brown owns the company and still guides on the water.
